Bibliophile Books
London, United Kingdom
New Year 2011: A Royal Warrant of Appointment has been granted to Annie Quigley of Bibliophile Limited into the place and quality of Booksellers to H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh. In 1992 on the death of her mentor and Bibliophile owner Bill Smith, Annie Q was given the unique opportunity to buy the highly acclaimed mail order book club Bibliophile. Some 20 years later she has developed the business into the largest independent book club in the UK by catalogue and Internet. Each year Bibliophile publish ten tabloid newspaper catalogues, full of personalised book reviews. Each month, her team review and introduce over 250 new titles to the 2500 stocked inventory, which covers a wide variety of subjects from art and architecture, biography, crime and fiction, to children's, hobbies and handicrafts, war and military, history and literature. Her passion for books came from her mother Aileen Armitage and step-father Deric Longden, who are both writers. Annie has also brought public domain out of print titles back into print under the Bibliophile imprint for Print on Demand and also continues to monitor the digital book revolution alongside her very traditional roots.
